Review Of My Micro-Teaching

Hello!
Today, I did a micro-teaching lesson in ETM3 class.
I would like to write about it.

The objectives of my pre-reading and in-reading activities

We tryed to make students understand about today's topic in pre-reading.
Using brain storming, students could imagine about the farm chemical's danger.
And in in-reading, the objective was to understand the contents of the sentences.

I think those activity was so-so succesful.
Most of the students wrote many words and caught the contents.

The strengths and weaknesses of your mini-lesson

Strengths
We used a picture of the image of farm-chemical danger.
Most of students could understand today's topic and wrote some words.

Weaknesses
We couldn't finish up the lesson because of time-up.
And our explanation might not enough to understand about doing activity.

Discoveries about teaching
I thought teaching is difficult again. In every subject, it can be said.
Especially, English is not our first language. So, teacher should make a lesson easy for students to understand.

I admired your effort to try brainstorming. I thought it was a great idea to show a picture related to the story and ask students to talk about it. I think that I will try something similar. Here are a couple of ways to improve the brainstorming:

1)The point of brainstorming is to help students think of English words that they know that will help them understand the story. So brainstorming should be done in English.

2)To make the brainstorming easier, you can ask the following question: “Please tell me what you see in the picture, please use English”. This will work and help the students think of words related to your topic as long as the picture is related to your topic.

Hi I am nabeso , your micro teaching was good . I thought brain-storming was interesting especially . Students can image about environment frexibly . However if there are more help when students do brain-storming they can image easily . Your teaching was interesting , thank you .

Thank you for your teaching. I enjoyed your class and learned many things from it.
The brainstorming was an interesting way of pre-reading. But it was a little difficult for students to understand it. They would not know what they do or imagine. This can be improved
by using the way Mr.hall suggested(2).
Anyway you did a good job. And I think it would be a good experience for you. Thank you.

Especially I think the brainstorming was so interesting♪ I could imagine a lot of things and understand today's story from just one picture. So it is very useful way to make a lesson easy for students, I think.

I think this story is little difficult to teach, but you taught it in good way. You used "brain storming". It is interesting for students to reflect it. this idea is very nice as pre-reading. We enjoyed doing this activity and could understand this theme.
Weakness point, as you wrote, it took too much time to explain the activity.
Anyway, I enjoyed your English lesson! Thank you for your teaching.

I think that brainstorming is very good. Thanks to it, students could understand connection with human, foods,environment easily. If you use English in brainstorming, your class will be more good.

Hi,Bu-chan! This is Wakame. Thank you for your teaching. I think that brainstorming is good means but it is difficult too. Because when students thought about the words, they think of also the words which have nothing to do with the topic, especially when it is done in Japanese. I enjoyed your class.
You indicated concretely, "Please write your images more than Five and within Three minutes."
You gave students brainstoming using picture, but it was out of lesson's direction.
So you had better use Rachel Louise picture, I thought.
Anyway, you did a good job!!

I think using brainstorming was very interesting.I could enjoy that activity.
I want to search other ways to introduce to children to the new topic lessons.

I had same opinion of your idea of your weak point story.
Brainstornming was very interesting but it is very difficult to operate students to think about the topic teacher want to teach.

Brainstorming was good activity for ss to think about article, but I'm sorry that I couldn't understand what you want to do that time.

I have one idea about taking brainstorming. What about using new wards is? I think some student can strike on some practical wards from "danger" or "chemical".

I am very sorry for late comment. The picture had many meaning, so it was useful for guessing. I was interested in the method, but it seems a little difficult how connect with the guess and contents of the story. Thank you for good teaching.

Good job your micro teaching.
You should use more time to practice for students.
Time was really short, so you had to think what you use time.
But, your lesson was intersting.
